Jennifer Centrone, Executive Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer of Arch Capital Services LLC, discussed the company's approach to employee benefits and wellness on the Insurance Coffee House Podcast in September 2024. Centrone stated that Arch Capital conducted a global conjoint survey in the three countries with the largest employee presence to ask employees what matters most to them regarding benefits and wellness. She said the survey revealed that employees want flexibility, as they are at different life stages and need different things to feel able to bring their best selves to work. Cenrtone described how employee priorities shift across life stages, with those in their 20s and 30s concerned about paying bills, starting a family, and mental health; those in their 40s focused on retirement savings and college tuition; and those in their 50s and 60s worried about retirement timing and physical health. She noted that Arch Capital brought in a positive psychologist several times to provide webinars teaching employees tangible ways to balance stress. Centrone said the company is using the survey input to design a wellness strategy aimed at helping employees manage stress and bring their best selves to work.
