Xiaoyin Qu, founder of HeyBoss AI, announced in early April 2025 that she stepped down as CEO of the company and appointed an artificial intelligence system named Astra as the new CEO. Qu described Astra as the "world's first AI CEO" and stated that she remains on the board and handles tasks like compliance, effectively working under an AI boss. She said the company has several AI employees and that Astra manages multiple AI agents, handles customer interactions in various languages, and synthesizes customer data to inform product development. Qu noted that "AI can work 24/7" and "speak 30 plus languages." Qu has been discussing the implications of AI for business and employment.
