“Fabria price points are not out of bounds for most consumers; we average about $52 a yard for carpet. With hard surface gaining share, Fabria price points are reasonable and I believe there are more Fabria consumers in the market than ever.”
On , Thomas Nuckols, Vice President & President of Dixie Residential at DIXIE GROUP INC, spoke about pricing during FloorDaily.net: T.M. Nuckols Showcases The Dixie Group's Color Focus and New Products for 2026 on floordaily.
Thomas Nuckols, president of The Dixie Group, has continued to emphasize the company's focus on color and high-end residential carpet, particularly through its Fabrica and Maslin brands. At Surfaces 2026, Nuckols highlighted the company's "Step Into Color" campaign, noting that the industry's shift toward solution-dyed polyester has resulted in "a lot of neutrals, a lot of beiges, a few grays" and a lack of real color. He stated that The Dixie Group differentiates itself through its white-dyeable nylon program, which allows for long, custom color lines. Nuckols also reported that Fabria has been the company's fastest-growing brand, driving more growth than any other brand over the past few years, and that high-end carpet continues to perform well in the marketplace despite overall market challenges. In recent years, Nuckols has discussed the company's strategic moves, including the sale of its commercial business to Mannington Commercial in 2021 to focus exclusively on residential, and the subsequent investment in nylon extrusion capacity after Invista's exit from the industry. He has described the residential market as "tough" since May 2022, with the market down 25% or more from 2021 levels, but noted that The Dixie Group's high-end brands have held up relatively well. Nuckols has also overseen the launch of the Premier Flooring Center program to replace former Stainmaster Flooring Centers, and the expansion of the company's hard surface offerings, including WPC and SPC products under the TrueCore brand.
