Matthew Jacobs, a candidate for the Prairie South School Board in 2012, participated in a candidate forum on October 11, 2012. During the forum, Jacobs stated that he grew up in Moose Jaw and called the city home. He said that good schools contribute to good business and a competitive nation, and that the world is changing, requiring education to adapt. Jacobs expressed a desire to be a leader in the learning community who is also a listener, and said that if elected he would be an advocate for education who considers the community's values and prioritizes the educational needs of children.
