Amy Davis, Vice President and President of Accelera by Cummins and Components at Cummins, has discussed the company's work on battery electric and hydrogen fuel cell technologies for commercial vehicles. In a 2023 CNBC appearance, Davis stated that adoption of new battery technologies in the commercial sector faces challenges, including infrastructure needs and the requirement for fast refueling to maintain vehicle uptime. She said that customers are piloting the technology and that large-scale adoption will take years. Davis also described hydrogen fuel cells as a way to provide electricity for applications requiring more power and range than batteries alone can supply. In a 2022 keynote at the ACT Expo, Davis said Cummins had invested a billion dollars in research and development for future technologies and was commissioning a large electrolysis plant in Canada to produce green hydrogen. She stated that the transportation industry contributes 28% of U.S. greenhouse gases and that Cummins aims to help reduce emissions. Separately, in a 2025 appearance on a program called "The Table," Davis participated in a discussion that referenced biblical themes including the "Omega anointing" and the Tower of Babel, with the host stating the program's purpose is "to make ready a people for the coming of the Lord."
