Dr. Ariel Cohen, a senior fellow at the Atlantic Council and founder of International Market Analysis, appeared on i24 News in May 2026 to discuss U.S.-Iran relations. On May 19, Cohen stated that the U.S. is asking Iran to accept conditions including "total dismantlement of the enrichment and removal of the enriched material," incapacitation of long-range ballistic missiles, and cessation of support for proxies. He said that "we need to destroy their infrastructure" and "deny their ability to rebuild their nuclear program." Cohen also expressed concern that the U.S. has "only Israel and the UAE as real allies" and that the situation is "very precarious." On May 20, Cohen discussed the implications of a potential U.S.-Iran deal for Israel. He said that Israel "did not remove the strategic threat" from Iran and that the Iranian regime "was not forced to comply" with U.S. demands. Cohen stated that Netanyahu "looks worse and worse for the Israeli electorate and for Israel's foreign partners" and raised questions about the lack of a government commission of inquiry into the October 7, 2023 attacks. He also identified five factors "actively destroying Israel's legitimacy," including Iran, Qatar, Turkey, and far-left and far-right groups in the U.S. and West.
