About Arani Bose
Arani Bose, co-founder and director of Penumbra, delivered a recorded message in September 2016 congratulating the organizers of the first STNI congress in India. He stated that he had founded two companies over the prior 20 years in the United States: Smart Therapeutics and his current company, Penumbra. Bose noted that these companies were started with the assistance of Indian physicians, particularly in Bombay and Delhi, and said that progress in neurointervention could not have been accomplished without the involvement of individuals in India. Bose reported that Penumbra had received Indian government clearance for its ACE catheter a few months prior to the congress. He said the company was beginning the launch of the ACE catheter in India on the occasion of the STNI congress and that Penumbra would work with Indian physicians to expand stroke endovascular therapy throughout the subcontinent.
