In a video posted on August 3, 2020, Jason Silberstein discussed his experience with expressive language delay, which he said was diagnosed about seven years prior. He described difficulties in group conversations, including long pauses between thoughts and being interrupted before finishing his sentences. Silberstein said he joined Toastmasters in 2011 to improve his speaking, and that he found filming and repeatedly practicing his speeches to be effective. He noted that after his diagnosis, he lost motivation and quit the organization.
