About Lewis Black

Executive Vice President, Chief Financial Officer & Treasurer · SOLARWINDS CORP

Lewis Black, a comedian known for his rants, has been active on The Daily Show and his own "Rantcast" in late 2024 and 2025. In a December 2025 Daily Show segment, Black commented on TikTok trends, including the slang term "67" being named word of the year, a game where high school seniors play "assassin," and a "Kool-Aid Man Challenge" involving property damage. He stated, "Listen, kids, a school shooter's culture is not your costume," and said of the trends, "every time I think we might be reaching the end of civilization, I open TikTok and remember we already have." In a November 2025 Rantcast episode, Black criticized the cost of Thanksgiving turkeys, saying that after Donald Trump took office in January 2025, "wholesale turkey prices surged 75% — that's not inflation. That's a mugging." He described a Walmart promotional bundle as "not economic policy" but "a damn coupon," and called the smaller product sizes "shrinkflation in a pilgrim hat." In an October 2025 Rantcast, Black read complaints from Las Vegas locals about parking fees and high prices on the Strip, with one audience member saying, "We're dropping 500 to 700 bucks every time we come down here with overpriced food, drinks, and shitty slots." In a December 2024 Rantcast, Black ranted about Junior Mints candies that stick to the box, saying, "if you want to be angry, be angry at an inanimate object."
