“I think Ethereum I don't think is is overvalued. Um I mean personally um but you know disclosure I do hold Ethereum so so so of course of course right uh but but in our industry we kind of have to right um but uh but I I don't think it's terribly overvalued relative to the fact that it actually has the deepest TVL right um you know our own stable coin is going to is is is is going to be looking at launching at Ethereum first every stable coin out there is going to be looking at every place that's basically looking at you know building out more native network effects in the space typically it's a choice between Ethereum or Salana.”
On , Yat Siu, Executive Chairman & Co-Founder at Animoca Brands, spoke about Ethereum valuation during Yat Siu 'The AI System I'm Using That Almost No One Is' on Risk Takers.
Yat Siu, executive chairman and co-founder of Animoca Brands, has argued in recent interviews that cryptocurrency was not designed for human use and that its primary purpose is to serve as infrastructure for AI agents. He stated that "code is their natural language" and that in a future where agents transact with each other, those transactions will occur on-chain. Siu also said he personally deploys over 230 AI agents for tasks including writing code and finding market arbitrage, and he advised others to start using autonomous agents rather than basic chat interfaces. He described the shift toward an "agentic web" or "Web4," where billions of AI agents will operate online. Siu discussed Animoca Brands' focus on altcoins, stablecoins, and real-world assets. He noted that the company's joint venture Anchor Point, formed with Standard Chartered and Hong Kong Telecom, received a stablecoin license in Hong Kong. He also said that on-chain user numbers have remained around 70 million while token holders have grown to nearly 800 million, and he attributed the lack of altcoin appreciation to this gap. Siu described memecoins as a reaction to past regulatory hostility and predicted they would become less important as regulatory clarity increases. He also stated that he believes altcoins will collectively outperform Bitcoin.
