Doron Arazi, then Deputy CEO of Ceragon Networks, appeared at India Mobile Congress 2019 alongside Shai Yaniv, the company's EVP of Marketing. In the interview, Arazi discussed global trends in data consumption and their relevance to India, noting that service providers need technological solutions to address exponentially growing demand. He stated that microwave and millimeter wave solutions "could be a good replacement for fiber in countries that do not have the fibre spread as you see in the Western countries." Arazi attributed the rapid implementation of 4G in India to the use of microwave technology as a substitute for fiber in the short and medium term. Arazi also commented on the potential for 5G deployment in India, saying that if operators decide to pursue 5G strongly, "they have different technologies; one of them is microwave and millimeter-wave technology that can cover for the interim scarcity of fiber solutions." He expressed a positive outlook on the Indian market, referencing government statements about potential 5G options in the upcoming fiscal year, and said Ceragon looked forward to continuing its work with operators in the country.
