Jimmi Sue Smith, who became CFO of Koppers Holdings after serving as treasurer, described her role as overseeing all financial functions of the company, including accounting, internal audit, a shared services center in Pittsburgh, and the controllers. She noted that the company was beginning a new financial planning and analysis function, which she said would provide additional analysis at the corporate level to create a consolidated picture of the company's performance for investors, banks, and rating agencies. Smith expressed pride in Koppers' commitment to sustainability, stating that the company has done "real work" around goals and how to meet them, which she said is not always associated with manufacturing companies. She also discussed her involvement in an employee resource group that provides programming for parents, including sessions on paying for college and keeping children safe online, and encouraged feedback on what topics would be useful.
