David Bergman, Chief Financial Officer at Under Armour, discussed his career and the role of the CPA profession in a December 2024 podcast. Bergman stated that he has been a CPA for 30 years and said he feels he is learning something new every week. He described the CPA profession as bringing "extra clarity or integrity to the business world." Bergman noted that his accounting background and CPA certification provided the building blocks that allowed him to move into treasury, financial planning and analysis, and ultimately become CFO of a multi-billion dollar company. In a September 2020 appearance, Bergman, then identified as a Principal at Health Management Associates, discussed digital health and telemedicine. He described opportunities to use digital tools to address provider shortages and to deliver care such as medication-assisted therapy for opioid addiction. Bergman said that by using digital health tools, providers can remove barriers for patients, such as the need to travel long distances, and help them achieve recovery.
