About Douglas Kaye
In December 2024, Douglas “Dak” Kaye III introduced himself as the new Chief Executive Officer of American Vanguard in a video message to employees. Kaye stated that he is known as “Dak” and that he resides in Ankeny, Iowa with his wife and son. He described his background as originally in finance, with the second half of his career spent in management at top 10 global crop protection companies in the U.S. and international markets, including experience in crop, industrial vegetation management, turf and ornamental, and seed treatment segments. Kaye said he was impressed by American Vanguard’s track record of providing customers with proven solutions and expressed eagerness to join the company in continuing its transformation efforts. He noted that he anticipated hearing about successful fourth quarter efforts and looked forward to building on a customer-centric foundation in 2025. Kaye committed to open communication, transparency, and collaboration, and said he would be located in the company’s Newport Beach offices.
