“Inclusion is a leadership mechanism, not a culture initiative. It's not just inviting people to meetings; it's forcing the discussion so that we get the best idea on the table because the best ideas are generally with the most quiet people. We have to expect an answer versus just 'I'm okay' kind of thing.”
On , Viren Shah, Senior Vice President & Chief Digital and Information Officer at AGCO CORP, spoke about inclusive leadership during Leading with Relevance (Overtime) – Ep 23 – Viren Shah on AI Strategy & Purpose-Driven Leadership on Relevantz.
Viren Shah, Senior Vice President and Chief Digital and Information Officer at AGCO, has discussed the company's approach to institutionalizing artificial intelligence. In a March 2026 conference presentation, Shah described AGCO's strategy as a "bottom-up swell" to make employees "AI aware" and encourage them to become "practitioners of AI." He outlined a structured process with "L0 to L5 stage gates" for AI projects, beginning with an assessment of potential benefits. Shah stated that the goal is to "bring the human along in the whole AI revolution." In a May 2026 podcast, Shah said that creating value from AI remains "the unanswered question in many organizations." He argued that organizations should not forget the human element and proposed a formula for success: "100% of your organization is AI aware, 70% of your employees are AI practitioners and about 30% are AI experts." Shah described AI as an opportunity for technology leaders to "democratize business IT" and expressed a personal desire to shift from "impacting billions of dollars to billions of people."
