At the 2016 OSA Laser Congress in Boston, Trevor Ness, Senior Vice President of Sales & Strategic Business Development at IPG Photonics, discussed the company's performance and market position. Ness stated that IPG Photonics is "the world leader in fiber laser technology" and had recently reported a record quarter in sales. He attributed the company's growth to "displacement of incumbent laser technologies" and "an expanding total available market," adding that IPG has been bringing products to market that are "technically and commercially differentiating," which he said enables the company to grow both the market and its market share.
