Lisa Su, Chair and CEO of AMD, announced in late September 2026 that AMD would acquire World Labs, an AI startup founded by Fei-Fei Li, in an all-stock transaction valued at approximately $8.2 billion. In an interview with Bloomberg, Su described the acquisition as driven by a shared vision for AI’s future and the need for end-to-end understanding across hardware, software, and models. In August, following AMD’s Q2 earnings, Su reported strong revenue growth of over 50% year-over-year, citing an inflection in AI demand and new partnerships with OpenAI, Meta, and Anthropic. She raised AMD’s market growth expectations, projecting the data center AI accelerator market to grow more than 45% annually to approximately $1.4 trillion by 2030, and stated the company expects to significantly exceed its $20 annual EPS target.
