Mark McHugh, President, CEO, and Director of Rayonier, announced a merger of equals with PotlatchDeltic on October 14, 2025. McHugh stated that the combined company would have a large component of stable cash flow while retaining meaningful leverage to the lumber cycle. He said that Rayonier had become mindful of the advantages offered by a larger portfolio, particularly for growing its land-based solutions business and unlocking value through land use optimization.
