In a 2016 interview at IFT16, Mike Geraghty, then President of Sensient Colors, discussed consumer trends and the company’s new SupraRed product. Geraghty said that about two-thirds of the population had a high level of interest in food coloring from more natural sources and cleaner labels. He stated that between 2015 and 2016, there had been a significant change in the buying public moving from intent to action regarding switching to products with simpler ingredient statements. Geraghty introduced SupraRed as a natural red color designed for high-heat environments such as bakery and extruded cereals.
