During Meituan's Q2 2025 earnings call, Wang stated that the company had solidified its market leadership, noting that its highest daily on-demand delivery orders surpassed 150 million in July. He said Meituan is "firmly against the 'involution'" and aims to focus on improving user experience and enhancing supply, adding that regulators have made clear they do not want "excessive destructive competition." Wang also reiterated a long-term goal of 100 million average daily orders for food delivery and said the company would prioritize using cash on its core business while continuing to evaluate share repurchases. Speaking at the Annual Meeting of the New Champions in June 2025, Wang attributed rapid tech evolution in China to a new generation of people born in the 1990s and 2000s, whom he described as having extensive access to information and IT hardware. He stated that the real era of AI technology has been the last five to ten years and that this has been a product of that generation, adding that young people are "more flexible and more adaptable" compared to those who have spent a lifetime on older technology.
