Daniel Scavilla, who became CEO of Dentsply Sirona in 2025, has been discussing the company’s strategic shift from selling individual products to offering integrated digital workflows. In interviews at DS World 2025, he described the transition as moving from selling "widgets" to selling "the workflow, the process." Scavilla noted that the company is focused on building long-term customer relationships rather than one-off sales. He acknowledged the need for structural changes to create a scalable organization that can "put the customer in the center and move with speed." Scavilla, who previously spent 28 years at Johnson & Johnson and later served as CFO and operations leader at Globus Medical, said his background in spine robotics and medical devices prepared him for the dental industry. He emphasized a cautious approach to communication, stating that the company would "underpromise and overdeliver" to avoid repeating past overpromises. Scavilla also highlighted the company’s investment in its DS Core cloud platform, which he said has more than 50,000 practices and labs and over 60,000 connected devices.
