Dave Regnery, Chair and CEO of Trane Technologies, appeared on CNBC's *Mad Money* on May 14, 2026. He discussed the company's performance, noting a backlog of $10.7 billion for equipment at the end of the first quarter and stating that a third of the business is services, which he described as having a compound annual growth rate in the low teens over the past seven years. Regnery said the data center pipeline is "more robust than I've ever seen it before" and that there is "a lot of demand right now" for the foreseeable future. Regnery also addressed the company's focus on sustainability, stating that while it "might not be fashionable right now to be talking about sustainability here in the United States," Trane continues to do so as part of its purpose. He said that 30% of global energy goes to buildings, 40% of that is for heating and cooling, and that most buildings waste about 30% of the energy they pay for, which he described as an opportunity for the company to help customers save energy and lower their carbon footprint.
