Amy Avalos, a graduate student in the themed experiences MFA program at the University of Central Florida (UCF), discussed her background and artistic focus in a September 2021 student spotlight. Avalos stated that her background includes working on "some of the most prominent theme park projects" and described her "overall passion as an artist" as creating immersive experiences that provide an "opportunity to escape from the everyday world." She noted that her immersive art installation "invites viewers into a surreal reality" and incorporates ultraviolet lighting to "challenge viewers in how we perceive the world and those within it and as to what goes unseen every day."
