About Jorge García
Jorge García, Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer at Popular, presented a box turtle named Winston at a Fall Fest event in October 2025. During the presentation, García described the turtle as one of the facility's oldest animals, potentially around 45 years old. He explained characteristics of box turtles, noting that they are land dwellers without webbed feet, can be surprisingly fast, and have a shell that is vascularized living tissue. He also discussed how to distinguish male from female turtles by eye color and noted that turtles cannot leave their shells. In a separate appearance in October 2024, García delivered a sermon titled "El Camino a la Madurez" based on 1 Corinthians 13:11. He stated that spiritual maturity is not determined by physical age but by internal growth in thinking, speaking, and judging. García said that God measures maturity by responsibility and that immaturity can prevent believers from receiving divine blessings and inheritance. He emphasized the importance of leaving behind childish ways to access what God has prepared for believers.
