In an April 2020 video message, Kroger Executive Vice President and Chief People Officer Tim Massa announced a "hero bonus" for the company's frontline associates. Massa stated that the bonus, described as a $2 per hour premium above the standard wage, would apply to hours worked between March 29 and April 18, 2020, and be paid on a weekly basis.
