Abdul Aziz Al Ghurair, CEO of Mashreq Bank, participated in the "Make It in the Emirates" conference in Abu Dhabi, where he discussed family businesses and crisis management. He stated that crises such as World War II, the Gulf Wars, the COVID-19 pandemic, and the Ukrainian war have impacted global companies, and he noted that the UAE demonstrated resilience under its leadership. Al Ghurair advised against selling assets during crises, recommending patience and partnership with banks to reduce installments, and said that crises present opportunities for investment. Al Ghurair praised the UAE's leadership, stating that the country is "lucky" with President Mohamed bin Zayed and that the UAE is "manufacturing and producing AI," with a goal for AI to contribute 14% of the UAE's GDP by 2030. He described the UAE's experience as having "all advantages" of other successful economies and commended the political will behind its achievements.
