In a September 2022 interview on NYSE Floor Talk, Ellen Cooper, who had been President and CEO of Lincoln Financial Group for two months, discussed the company’s focus on providing financial protection and security for everyday Americans. She stated that the company was executing on its current strategy by building products that meet customer value propositions, modernizing its technology to become more digitally enabled, and focusing on talent and corporate culture, including practices around diversity, equity, and inclusion. Cooper noted that she had been with Lincoln Financial for 10 years before becoming CEO, and highlighted internal promotions, including four direct reports and about 35 of 75 people in the next leadership level who were promoted internally over the previous two years. She also described a new enterprise-wide recognition program called "shout out" that she said had been successful in recognizing employee contributions.
