Kristin Carvell, Chief Communications Officer at GE Vernova and President of the GE Vernova Foundation, announced on April 29, 2025, that the foundation is expanding its focus to include green spaces. Carvell stated that the foundation, an independent charitable organization funded by GE Vernova, is partnering with the Trust for Public Lands and committing $500,000 to build green spaces in Boston and Atlanta. She said that in Boston, approximately $250,000 will go toward green spaces for underrepresented communities, and in Atlanta, the funds will support revitalizing 10 schoolyards, providing access to green spaces for over 75,000 students and residents. Carvell added that the foundation’s goal is to eventually expand the green spaces initiative to international sites near GE Vernova operations. Carvell also noted that since the foundation’s launch about a year ago, it has committed around $5 million to workforce development and disaster relief initiatives. She described the foundation’s focus as building the workforce for the future of energy and creating stronger, more resilient communities. On April 2, 2024, during GE Vernova’s listing on the New York Stock Exchange, Carvell said the company is "purpose-built to accelerate and lead the global energy transition" and that it will continue to focus on its mission of "electrifying and decarbonizing the world."
