“We are here to present our evolution of the investment and development for the AI at the edge. This is where we contribute more, making available a platform at the edge that is able to run in part inference for the AI — what we call hybrid AI, edge AI in combination with cloud AI.”
On , Enrico Salvatori, Senior Vice President & President of Europe at Qualcomm, spoke about edge AI during Electronic Specifier at embedded world 2026 with Qualcomm Europe Inc. on Electronic Specifier.
At embedded world 2026, Enrico Salvatori discussed Qualcomm's AI strategy, emphasizing the company's focus on "hybrid AI" that combines edge and cloud inference. He described the company's Dragon Wing product roadmap, including the IQ6, IQ8, IQ9, and IQ10 platforms, which he said are designed to support AI at the edge with performance scaling from entry-level to around 100 TOPS for robotics and high-performance use cases. Salvatori also highlighted the announcement of the Arduino Ventuno Q board, based on the IQ8 platform, which he stated provides up to 40 TOPS of performance for developers in pre-commercial testing. He noted Qualcomm's collaboration with Nura Robotics on humanoids, AMRs, and robotic arms, and pointed to demonstrations at the show covering use cases such as industrial video surveillance, defect recognition, and retail kiosks with digital signage.
