“We decided to create this prize because creativity has always been at the center of everything that we do at LVMH. It's a passion of course, but it's also a responsibility to discover the young designers of tomorrow and to help them grow.”
On , Delphine Arnault, CEO at Christian Dior, spoke about fashion during LVMH PRIZE - Delphine Arnault presents the Prize (EN) on LVMH.
Delphine Arnault, CEO of Christian Dior Couture, received a special recognition award from the British Fashion Council in 2023 for her contributions to the fashion industry and support of emerging talent. During a visit to London, she announced a new Dior womenswear scholarship to complement an existing menswear scholarship launched in 2020. The scholarship supports a UK-based womenswear design student every two years, covering tuition and living costs while providing mentorship from the Dior design team. Arnault stated that "women's fashion is a very important part of our business" and that adding the scholarship made sense if it could help more students. Arnault has emphasized the importance of nurturing young designers, describing creativity as "at the center of everything we do at LVMH" and calling it "a responsibility to discover the young designers of tomorrow and to help them grow." She highlighted the LVMH Prize, launched in 2013, which provides a financial award and a year of coaching from LVMH professionals to help winners with strategy, production, and business decisions. Arnault noted that she is impressed by the "willpower, courage, and energy" of young designers, acknowledging the challenges they face in balancing creativity with accounting, production, and brand vision.
