In a September 2021 interview with the National Ground Water Association, DeLancey Davis, President of Headwater Companies LLC, discussed the company's recent acquisition of Guycon Pumps and Equipment Inc. and its outlook. Davis stated that Headwater Companies focuses on "reinvesting in groundwater" and seeks to acquire companies that share that vision and need a succession option, describing Guycon as a "great fit" culturally. He noted that Texas is a "fantastic market" and that the acquisition provides a footprint in the municipal, commercial, and industrial sectors. Davis said that Headwater Companies was "more prepared than most" for pandemic conditions due to existing investments in IT solutions for inventory and ordering. He stated that the company followed state, local, and federal guidelines but did not anticipate any permanent adaptations from the pandemic, adding that "our business is a people business" and that virtual transactions are a temporary measure. Davis reported that water well contractors have been very busy and are seeking relief in finding and retaining help.
