In September 2015, Bob Udell, President and CEO of Consolidated Communications, welcomed Enventis customers to the company following a merger. Udell stated that the combination would bring "more benefits and value" to customers and that the company would continue to provide "advanced communication solutions" and "new and enhanced services." He emphasized the company's commitment to serving customers in the upper Midwest and maintaining the local Enventis team's support. In a 2013 interview for the Foothills Research Institute's annual report, Udell, who served as past president and Adaptive Forest Management-History Program Lead, discussed the institute's history and projects. He noted that the institute was established in the early 1990s through a joint proposal for a model forest in Hinton, Alberta, and that its board included senior resource management agency managers.
