At the 2022 National Society of Genetic Counselors (NSGC) annual conference, Paul J. Diaz, president and CEO of Myriad Genetics, described the company's focus on three pillars: evolving products by expanding gene panels and adding risk scores for patients of all ancestry; operationalizing science in practice through workflow and ease of use; and making genetics accessible through direct pay options, financial assistance, and price transparency. Diaz stated that the role of genetic counselors is "integral to our mission" and that he spent time at the conference "learning and taking it all in and thinking about ways that we can be better partners." He also said Myriad Genetics is "excited to partner with NSGC on everything from workflow to education to clinics." At the 2022 ASCO meeting, Diaz discussed the company's precise oncology solutions, saying the goal is to "make our science more approachable, make it easier to use and really bring the benefit of those high quality tests together in one easy to use report." He noted that partnerships with Illumina and Intermountain allow the companies to "get to market faster" and "do it in a more efficient way which brings down the cost," which he said makes genetic testing more accessible. Diaz described Myriad Genetics' mission as helping physicians "detect, treat disease and help manage disease" while putting "patients in the center of that."
