“We're not good people; our sense of goodness is self-righteousness which is nothing but filthy rags — when you realize you're not good you are ready to receive a Savior.”
On , Robert Coker, President, Chief Executive Officer & Director at SONOCO PRODUCTS CO, spoke about sin during Robert Coker "Ye Must be born again"- May 2017 Conference on The Ministry of Salvation Fellowship.
Robert Coker, president, CEO and director of Sonoco Products, has delivered religious sermons at the Ministry of Salvation Fellowship conferences in 2016 and 2017. In a May 2017 sermon titled "Ye Must be born again," Coker stated that he previously believed he was saved but later concluded he was "lost and Hellbound" due to his past involvement with drugs and crime. He asserted that "the sinner's prayer does not save you" and that salvation is "the work of God not of man," and he urged listeners to verify his teachings against the Bible. In a December 2016 sermon titled "Like a Flood," Coker criticized Pope Francis' encyclical on the environment, saying he rejected the characterization of Earth as "sister, mother" and stated he prays "through the name, power and authority of the Lord Jesus Christ, not 'Mother Earth.'" He discussed the United Nations' 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, describing its goals for legal identity, fossil fuel subsidy reform, and marine conservation as potentially leading to surveillance, higher gasoline prices, and loss of private land access. Coker characterized the agenda's language of "global solidarity" as the "spirit of the Beast" or Antichrist.
