At GE Vernova’s 2024 Investor Day, Koziner presented the company’s strategy to address grid stability challenges posed by renewable energy, citing the need for equipment such as energy storage and reactive power control to prevent blackouts. He noted that electricity’s share of global energy consumption is projected to rise from 20% in 2022 to 50% by 2050 under net-zero targets, and highlighted recent contract awards, including five major HVDC deals in the North Sea and a project with National Grid UK. Koziner stated that the company’s electrification business is “reaching a tipping point of accelerated profitability” and that onshore wind is on a path toward profitability by 2025. Speaking at the Aspen Ideas Festival later in 2024, Koziner said that for GE Vernova to grow energy and decarbonize it, the company needs to integrate multiple solutions, supported by enabling policy and investments in innovation. He described the organization as having “a lot of momentum” with employees who are “passionate about the work they do every single day,” and reiterated the company’s commitment to decarbonization and energy innovation.
