In September 2018, Blake Sartini, Chairman and CEO of Golden Entertainment, discussed his recent acquisition of properties in Southern Nevada. Sartini said he received feedback that there was "a lot of pride that a local person had taken ownership of these properties and in particular this iconic building." He described himself as a "Southern Nevada native" and noted that the properties are located in Southern Nevada, allowing him to drive and visit them each day. Sartini stated that his CFO informed him of an opportunity for a conversation, which he described as "just the perfect fit." Reflecting on the acquisition, he recalled a "nostalgic moment" while looking out of his office window and said the answer was "to continue to compete and be relevant into the future."
