In a 2014 appearance for LP Building Solutions, Mike Snider, then executive vice president of LGI Homes, discussed his preference for LP® SmartSide® siding. Snider stated that he personally liked the product, describing it as "fantastic" and "so much better than the previous product we were using." He added that homeowners liked the product and that the 50-year manufacturer's warranty was a "great selling point." Snider also contrasted LP SmartSide with a previous siding product, recalling that with the earlier material he had received warranty claims from homeowners who broke the siding by running into it with a lawn mower.
