Darin Carroll, Senior Vice President of Natural Gas Business at CenterPoint, stated that the company would not have done anything differently in its preparation and response to Hurricane Beryl. He said CenterPoint had met its initial goal of restoring power to one million customers within 48 hours, but noted that the pace of repairs would slow for the remaining outages. When asked whether the company could have called in more mutual aid workers from out of town, Carroll said money was not a factor in the decision not to do so. Carroll also addressed complaints about the accuracy of CenterPoint's newly released outage map, which showed some areas as energized when customers there were still without power. He said the company was "working on the accuracy right now" and making adjustments to the map. He added that customers who see themselves in a green area on the map should not worry, as CenterPoint knows they are without power and will reach them.
