From EnerCom interview with Liberty Energy CEO Ron Gusek at EnerCom Denver 2025 · · Oil and Gas 360 - EnerCom
“You've heard all the news of course about data centers and the massive demand that's out there and the inability of the grid frankly to get there. You know, we've had some policy decisions of late that I think have hampered grid growth and we're in a position to take advantage of that.”
On , Ron Gusek, President, Chief Executive Officer & Director at LIBERTY ENERGY INC, spoke about data centers during EnerCom interview with Liberty Energy CEO Ron Gusek at EnerCom Denver 2025 on Oil and Gas 360 - EnerCom.
Ron Gusek, President and CEO of Liberty Energy, discussed the company's expansion into power generation during a March 2026 podcast appearance. He described a 1-gigawatt power development agreement with Vantage Data Centers, anchored by a 400-megawatt firm reservation for 2027 delivery. Gusek stated that growing energy demand, particularly from data centers and AI, has created an opportunity for Liberty to apply its power generation expertise from the oil and gas sector to the broader electricity market. He noted that challenges in building U.S. infrastructure, including pipelines and transmission lines, have left the grid unable to meet rising power demand. Gusek also commented on global energy security, saying that interruptions to gas supply from Russia and Qatar may lead world leaders to reconsider their energy strategies. He suggested that the "North American barrel" could become more valuable as a result. He characterized long-term energy services agreements as providing a "very stable foundation of cash flow" for the company, and emphasized the importance of "abundant, affordable, reliable energy."
