Account Executive, Institutional Sales
Close data licenses with hedge funds, asset managers, universities and AI labs, from the first call through the DDQ to the signed order form.
About CEOInterviews.AI
We turn what executives say on podcasts, TV and conference stages into verified, speaker-attributed transcripts. The archive holds 250K+ of them and covers every company in the S&P 500 and Nasdaq-100. Hedge funds and asset managers with $200B+ in combined AUM use it, along with university research groups and AI labs, through a web app, a data API and an MCP server.
The role
We sell seats on the web app to analysts and PMs, and data licenses to teams that want the transcripts inside their own models through the API, our MCP server or a bulk delivery. Data licenses are the larger contracts, and they are what you would own.
A buy-side data deal usually goes the same way. A data sourcing lead finds us, a PM or quant runs a trial, compliance asks how the data is collected, and legal reviews the license. You would run all of it and know where each deal is stuck.
What you will do
- Run the sales cycle with buy-side firms, covering discovery, demos, trials, pricing and the order form.
- Answer DDQs and security questionnaires with our COO, and see each fund's compliance review through to sign-off.
- Scope larger deals such as coverage of a fund's whole book, historical bulk exports and delivery through Snowflake.
- Grow accounts after the first contract with more seats, more coverage and API access.
- Bring back what you hear on calls. When three funds ask for the same field, we build it.
- Keep an honest weekly forecast.
What we are looking for
- Three or more years closing deals for a data, research or analytics product sold to the buy side. Alternative data, expert networks, research platforms and market data all count.
- A record of closing annual data contracts, with two deals you can walk us through in detail.
- You know how a fund buys data and how long each step takes.
- You can demo an API to a quant and the web app to a fundamental PM in the same afternoon.
Nice to have
- Relationships with data sourcing teams at funds in New York, the Bay Area or London.
- Experience selling to universities or AI labs.
- Comfortable running a Python notebook on a call.
Compensation
$130,000 to $160,000 base salary plus commission. The range applies in both Los Angeles and San Francisco. Where you land in it depends on experience.
How we hire
A 30-minute call with Anthony. A mock discovery call with Lucas playing a fund's head of data. A conversation with both founders, then references.
