Anne Sweeney, a board member at Netflix and the Mayo Clinic, has been involved in a range of activities. In December 2024, she participated in a conversation about climate theater, where she discussed her work as a playwright and co-runner of Wise Ram Theatre, focusing on climate-themed workshops and productions. She described her approach to making climate work that is not "so obviously moralistic" and encouraged creators to "follow the things you really love" rather than assuming climate stories must be dark or didactic. In a separate 2022 appearance before a school board, Sweeney, who identified herself as a substitute teacher, advocated for the inclusion of the Bible in classrooms, stating that the "founding fathers found it imperative to have a full knowledge of the bible as imperative to a quality education." She also criticized a teacher's comments about gender, saying, "I'm part of the society that is not what I teach my kids at all." Earlier in her career, Sweeney served as co-chair of Disney Media Networks and president of the Disney-ABC Television Group. In a 2021 panel, she discussed the future of entertainment, predicting that of the roughly 200 streaming services, only those that "super-serve their viewers" would survive. She also noted that "non-US shows should first resonate in their home territory," citing *Squid Game* as an example. Sweeney has also spoken about her role as the first Roald Dahl specialist nurse in the UK, describing it as a "real privilege" and emphasizing the importance of supporting families of children with epilepsy.
