Kaveh Vahdat, cofounder and CEO of RiseAngle, has spoken at several Pocket Gamer Connects events between 2018 and 2023. In his talks, he has discussed the business of immersive AR and VR games, describing VR as a strong medium for storytelling and noting that investor interest in VR was in a "gap of disappointment" as of 2018. He also presented on NFTs and the metaverse, outlining RiseAngle's plans for a "World of Mazes" NFT game metaverse and expressing skepticism about the sustainability of play-to-earn economies, stating he had not seen anyone solve that challenge. More recently, at Pocket Gamer Connects London 2023, Vahdat spoke about generative AI's potential to democratize game development. He described AI as the most transformative force he had seen in his career and predicted that game development would shift toward "game creation," where AI handles more technical aspects and the creative, visionary role becomes more central. He also suggested that the gap between small teams and large companies would narrow, which he framed as beneficial for indie developers.
