During a September 2023 keynote at Guidewire Connection, Diego Devalle discussed the company's cloud transformation strategy and the launch of its "FL" release. He described the company's approach as leveraging insurance with FL as a core, introducing an API-first approach, and using cloud transformation as a foundation for innovation. Devalle stated that FL was the company's sixth release in less than six years, and that more releases had been completed in the previous three years than in the prior ten. He noted that upgrades, which previously took eight months, now take less than a week using Snowcat automation, and that the company had automated code merging to ensure continuous testing and validation. Devalle also highlighted several new capabilities in the FL release, including self-service features, standardized high-volume quoting configuration to support scaling from 10 to 100 million quotes per year, and new solution packages for usage-based insurance, micro and embedded insurance, and retention. He introduced a new feature called Community Power Predict for claims subrogation and discussed the Explore platform, which he described as offering near real-time streaming data and operational insights. Devalle stated that these developments allow customers to implement new lines of business and ideas more quickly.
