Lynn Bamford, Chair and CEO of Curtiss-Wright, gave her first broadcast interview in the role on CNBC's Closing Bell: Overtime on August 17, 2025. She discussed the company's position in the commercial nuclear energy sector, describing it as a "renaissance" and stating that Curtiss-Wright supports every operating nuclear power plant in the U.S., Canada, and the U.K. Bamford said the company sees a line of sight to $1.5 billion in business driven by Eastern Europe and that recent U.S. executive orders have "lit the U.S. nuclear industry on fire," including a goal of having ten large reactors under construction by 2030. She noted a long-standing partnership with Westinghouse and work with small modular reactor developers including X-energy, Terrapower, and Rolls-Royce. In defense, Bamford said Curtiss-Wright signed a partnership providing access to Nvidia's embedded computing, networking, and AI technology, which she said would enable "computing at the tactical edge" to advantage soldiers. She stated that priorities in the 2026 defense budget, including shipbuilding and army modernization, are areas where the company will have meaningful content. Regarding capital allocation, Bamford said the company is "definitely acquisitive" and that acquisitions are the top goal for capital dollars, though she noted that recent potential targets did not fit the company's strategic and financial filters. She also mentioned a share buyback announcement.
