Pasqualino Monti, chief executive officer of ENAV, stated in a June 2024 interview that the company had paid the highest dividend in its history and was changing its dividend policy to improve returns for investors. He described ENAV as the most efficient air navigation service provider in Europe, based on numerical testing, and said the company was focused on its core business while also investing in technology and digital innovation. Monti noted that traffic volumes in 2023 were the highest in ENAV's history and that Eurocontrol forecasts indicated further increases for 2024. In earlier roles, Monti served as president of the Western Sicilian Sea Port System Authority and as extraordinary commissioner for the relaunch of shipbuilding in Palermo. He said he was appointed by then-Prime Minister Mario Draghi as commissioner to secure a 150,000-ton dry dock that would allow Fincantieri to build five cruise ships of 170 meters each in Palermo, describing the project as crucial for rebuilding the supply chain. Monti also stated that the port system in western Sicily had quadrupled its roll-on/roll-off volumes between 2014 and 2019 and had consolidated growth in cruise traffic. He received honorary citizenship from the city of Palermo in July 2022, during which he said the merit for the port's redevelopment should be attributed to all institutions, not just one person.
