CEC#1 - Témoignage S6 - Antoine Raymond, ARaymond

We are an international family business present in 26 countries with 32 industrial sites and over 7,500 employees. We are the expert in assembly systems, primarily for automotive, but also for photovoltaics, healthcare, and agriculture. The CEC helped me become more aware of climate issues and the wall we are heading toward—not a sudden wall but a crescendo of limited resources and climate transformations that will force us to live differently. As a business leader, I felt a strong desire to accelerate our company's transformation to ensure its long-term sustainability and preserve jobs by moving away from our current linear model. I feel sadness for our planet; I grew up in the mountains near Grenoble, skiing on glaciers, and now I see nature suffering. I fear for my children and grandchildren, and for all children who will face difficult times. That drives me to contribute, like a hummingbird in the Colibris group, through our company. The CEC is a human adventure where emotion can achieve more than rationality. We had already been sensitized by Jean-Marc Jancovici, and the CEC boosted our company. We now have a carbon footprint, a roadmap, and ambitious emission reduction targets shared globally. I was amazed at how quickly people embraced the project without hesitation. It's not a calm river but rapids leading to Niagara Falls, yet we are advancing very fast. The CEC gave us a lucid, professional insight that many around me lack. My 88-year-old father feels the urgency, and my children are deeply concerned. The CEC wove social bonds and led us into a human adventure. In our base camp, we find companies for partnerships, and we created a local CEC in Grenoble. Locally, it's easier to keep the CEC alive while building a network across regions and possibly Europe. The CEC touched participants' hearts with emotion, which is not always allowed in business. It was a positive, virtuous experience with great people and professionals.
