I am thrilled. This is the fourth time that we're putting on this show. We started it off in New York post-COVID and then moved to London to support the performing arts, and we were lucky enough to host it in Andrew Lloyd Webber's amazing Theatre Royal because we were raising money for the performing arts. Each one of the Vogue Worlds always has a philanthropic component. And then we moved to Place Vendôme, which had never held a fashion show before. Now we've come to Hollywood and very much wanted to support the industry in challenging times, and what could be better than coming here to Paramount? And again, very grateful to David Ellison and all the folk at Paramount for making this happen.
I know it could be quite a production and you've been working really hard on this and it's an amazing lineup for this show. What celebrities can we expect to walk the runway?
A few of our cover stars like Ratajkowski and a lot of amazing models, Kendall Jenner. What we're trying to do with the show, we really try and think each year like, what can we do that's about the city? And this time the production team came out and Mark Guiducci came up with the idea that when you walk onto the runway, it doesn't really look like a runway. You will feel like you're on a movie set, which gives us a lot of cover because we know that things do go wrong on a movie set. So if somebody misses their cue or doesn't turn up quite on time, everyone hopefully will think, well, that's part of the show.
Exactly. Exactly. The idea of the show is there's seven different chapters and each one is honoring the work of the seven great female costume designers that we are honoring, and each passage will show their influence on fashion. I think we're all influenced by so many different cultural forums, whether it's art or film or theater, music. But the marriage and the love affair between fashion and film is very deep. Going backstage at any of the shows or going up to design studios, you will always find iconic fashion stills and film stills pinned up on their walls. And interestingly enough, the costume designers tell us that they do the same thing. They pin up fashion shows that have meant a lot to them. So we're all influencing and inspiring each other. And not only are we showing the inspiration of these iconic women on the fashion community, we also wanted to recognize, I think it's 50 iconic characters whose costumes have influenced not only the world of the fashion community, but I think audiences everywhere. And just to name a couple, if you think about Bonnie and Clyde or you think about Ingrid Bergman and Humphrey Bogart in Casablanca, something more recent, obviously Barbie, Clueless. The idea is that Vogue has taken these iconic costumes and made them a little more modern and put our own twist on it.
