There ain't no team bigger than our team. We are that massive. The whole of town is us singing. More like here's us winning. On match day, you best have your torch ready. But when we eclipse the entire country, you know, when it comes to big, we're proper big. Dead big. Absolute beast. We just don't do small. Hands down. It doesn't get bigger than us. We're Manchester. We're Manchester. MANCHESTER. MANCHESTER. MANCHESTER. SUPER GIANTS. Introducing the team. We can all get behind in a big way. The Manchester Super Giants. Sport just got bigger.

Yes. Some exciting news ahead of this season's edition of the Hundred. The Manchester Originals have been given a bit of a rebrand. They'll now be known as the Manchester Super Giants. And I'm delighted to say we're now joined by the franchise owner Sanjiv Goenka and Super Giants and England star Jos Buttler. Guys, thank you so much for joining us this morning. Great to have you with us. Um Sanjiv, first of all, just how excited are you about this new rebrand and tell us the inspiration behind the Manchester Super Giants?
Sanjiv Goenka 1:23 ↗
Well, first of all, let me just say that we're very, very excited about this participation and the fact that Manchester is now part of the Super Giants family. Manchester is a great sporting city and frankly it's a privilege to play a small role in that journey of sports in Manchester. It's delightful to have leaders, match winners. I mean, unbelievable athletes like Jos with us. And to integrate Manchester with the Super Giants family is a dream come true.
Interviewer 2:20 ↗
How much are you then looking forward to this season's edition of the Hundred? It feels quite far away in the summer, but it will come around quick. And of course, the newly renamed Manchester Super Giants.
Jos Buttler 2:32 ↗
Yeah, really excited. I've loved being a part of the Hundred. I think the Hundred is such a fantastic tournament. Now taking on a new story in its history so far with the investment. And yeah, the Manchester Super Giants coming under that Super Giants umbrella. I'm part of it here in Durban. I've loved being part of this environment and I love playing cricket at Emirates Old Trafford. It's a great place to play. Obviously, Mr. Goenka mentioned what a fantastic city Manchester is in terms of sport. And yeah, the summer will come around quickly and I can't wait to get started as the Manchester Super Giants.
Interviewer 3:12 ↗
Sanjiv, Jos is in Durban at the moment playing for your Super Giants side out there. You've also got the Lucknow Super Giants in the IPL. Why was the Hundred such an attractive proposition for you when you first invested?
Sanjiv Goenka 3:27 ↗
Quite honestly, England has been the home of cricket. The Hundred is a great format. It's a great tournament and honestly I've been waiting for the Hundred to get privatized. It was something that was high on my wish list. And a big thanks and call out to the ECB for this move and for giving us this opportunity.
Interviewer 4:00 ↗
And Jos, there has been huge investment in the Hundred which is benefiting every level of the game in England, isn't it? How have you seen the tournament itself develop and grow since its inception just a few years ago?
Jos Buttler 4:14 ↗
Yeah, in many ways to be honest, I think it was obviously aimed at bringing in a new audience to the game. Obviously lots of families, lots of children at the games which are obviously the future of cricket in our country, the boys and girls who come and watch and support who will one day be on the field and we will be supporting them. So that's been really important. I think now we're going into the fifth year maybe. You can sort of really start to get the sense with the players as well how competitive it is between the teams. You know certain players have been with certain franchises for a long time now. And that sort of rivalry is really started and begun and I think that is something that fans are really getting behind. And certainly the players and the coaching staffs are very determined to beat certain sides in the competition as well.
