There can be no AI without data centers and the demand for critical infrastructure to power data centers is surging globally. India is going to be a key part of the growth strategy of companies providing infrastructure to data centers. That's the word coming in from Vertiv's global CEO Giordano Albertazzi. Vertiv is a full stack provider of components and infrastructure for AI companies and data centers. Let's listen in.
Thrilled. Well, thank you for having me. But thrilled I believe is the right way characterizing what I believe is a very dynamic environment, a lot of energy, a lot of alignment towards a very, very strong AI future in India. So certainly thrilled.
In general, we continue to see an acceleration of demand in the AI infrastructure space, and this demand is testament to that demand. For example, the declarations of capex investment that many of the hyperscalers made public a couple of weeks back. Certainly the very encouraging signals in terms of monetization of AI and AI inference, and in general when we look at our point of view of the dynamic, very, very convincing opportunity pipeline on our end. So not only do I believe that this is a long and strong secular trend, but I'm very convinced about our visibility and strength in this business.
How would you quantify the demand, the global demand for infrastructure for data centers and AI infrastructure right now if you had to quantify it in value terms?
As we were chatting just before this interview, we're very happy with our presence in India. We've been in India for decades, so we're very strong. We're very much into the industry and the ecosystem. We've been growing. We've been investing in capacity in manufacturing in India for India or India for export, and as we speak we continue to expand our footprint. What we hear in the market is very encouraging. We are very strong partners of the players in India, and we will continue to expand our presence here: manufacturing, services, and in general engineering. We have a lot of engineering in India.
Again, again, the absolute number is probably better defined in terms of acceleration relative to what we see happening elsewhere in the world. When I think about India, especially in the last probably semester or even a bit longer than that, I would say it's a market that is faster than the majority of the other markets in terms of growth, probably with the exception of North America US, but very, very strong pace.
