Address by the President of the Russian Federation.
Dear friends, colleagues, I congratulate you on Russia Day. We celebrate this holiday with a warm, heartfelt feeling toward our homeland, with pride in the tremendous labor and military achievements of many generations of our ancestors, with respect for key events in national history, and, of course, with the understanding that all stages of our state's more than a thousand-year journey are a single whole. A deep personal perception of Russia is inherent to the character of our people, for whom unity and patriotism have always been core values, helping us overcome all difficulties, defeat enemies, build and create our country, and preserve our historical and cultural heritage.
Dear friends, a sincere sense of responsibility for the Fatherland is shared by every one of us. And for the participants of the special military operation, it serves as a reliable spiritual anchor, just as the support of our heroes by the entire Russian people and the whole of society does. We all share common goals. The courage and perseverance in achieving them are characteristic of everyone receiving high honors today. First and foremost, I will name those awarded the title of Hero of Labour. Aleksandr Sergeyevich Batalin has headed the famous Simferopol Fiolent Plant for over 40 years. Under his leadership, the enterprise maintains high standards of its own scientific and design school, ensuring the production of in-demand goods for both civilian and dual-use purposes for state defense procurement. The creation of reliable life-support systems for manned spacecraft is the life's work of Leonid Sergeyevich Bobov. His developments confirm the leading positions of Russian science and are successfully used on the International Space Station. Reliability and responsibility are the primary character traits of Vladimir Nikolayevich Danilov, a mining machine operator at Uralkali. Behind him is vast experience, which he generously shares with young specialists. Aleksandr Borisovich Kolesnichenko has achieved significant results in the agricultural sector. Through his many years of work and willingness to introduce new solutions, he proves how successful a modern agro-industrial enterprise can be.
The talent of Marina Mstislavovna Neyolova, her vivid individuality, and her capacity for profound psychological transformation have won the hearts of viewers across different generations, both in theater and cinema. Her roles have become true milestones, and her skill and dedication serve as a guiding standard for the entire theatrical community. Nikolai Aleksandrovich Russu rose from an ordinary foreman to the head of one of the country's leading bridge-building enterprises. He dedicates all his strength, knowledge, and energy to realizing engineering projects that transform Russian regions, unlock their economic potential, and serve the strategic development of Russia. Anatoly Semyonovich Sviridov sets an exceptional example of loyalty to his calling. A top-tier universal lathe operator, he carries on the long-standing traditions of craftsmanship, skillfully combining them with the requirements of modern production. Among those receiving the Hero of Labour medal today is the legendary weapons designer Pyotr Ivanovich Serdyukov. Over his long professional career, he created a series of unique small arms and specialized technical equipment that enhanced the effectiveness of the military and special operations units.
The State Prize for outstanding achievements in humanitarian activities has been awarded to Viktor Antonovich Sadovnichy, Rector of Lomonosov Moscow State University. A person of broad scientific erudition, visionary thinking, and the ability to see future perspectives and rapidly implement ideas, he has led the nation's flagship university for over 30 years. He made an immense contribution to preserving the finest traditions of fundamental and classical education, strengthening Moscow University's position as a leading center of enlightenment, intellectual, and spiritual growth in Russia, and shaping the strategic directions of domestic higher education as a whole. Under Viktor Antonovich's leadership, several significant initiatives for developing and popularizing mathematical knowledge have been realized. Of course, his many years at the helm of the Russian Union of Rectors deserve special respect.
Today we also honor representatives of diverse fields of scientific inquiry. For instance, Alexey Mikhailovich Vassiliev, a leading specialist in Oriental and African studies, in his fundamental overarching works combined the rich experience of an international journalist with profound scientific analysis, capturing the essence of complex, multifaceted processes occurring across the Near and Middle East. Alexey Mikhailovich's books, articles, and unique knowledge are sought-after and essential, above all for strengthening mutual understanding among nations. Neurosurgeons Nikolai Aleksandrovich Konovalov, Vladimir Viktorovich Krylov, and Dmitry Yuryevich Usachev developed and widely introduced high-precision brain and spinal surgery into clinical practice, essentially establishing a modern school of domestic neurosurgery. Qualified specialists are already being trained on its foundation, and most importantly, the number of life-saving surgeries is growing. Thanks to the work of our scientists, significant advancements have also been made in the Russian oil and gas sector. The nation's first hydraulic fracturing fleet for enhancing production efficiency was created. This proprietary, critically important equipment was developed under the leadership of Oleg Valeryevich Zhdaneev, Igor Viktorovich Kovshov, and Elena Viktorovna Korsa-Vavilova.
Dear friends, the work of today's laureates in literature and the arts is united by the theme of the history of the Russian state and pride in its accomplishments, as well as an understanding that the strength of the Fatherland lies in the continuity of traditions, in respect for its heritage, and its great culture. Ekaterina Vladimirovna Zhukova, producer at MosKino, and Maria Viktorovna Ushakova, producer at the Rossiya television channel, have dedicated more than 10 years to educational projects about pivotal periods in our country's history, its heroes, and creators. Each of their works is rooted in historical facts and features a dynamic, gripping storyline. Through their creations, they prove that cinema can and must serve education. The continuity of past, present, and future is reflected in the work of the brilliant director and screenwriter Andrei Sergeyevich Mikhalkov-Konchalovsky. Through the imagery of Russian classics and reflections on modernity, through human destinies and grand artistic canvases, he reveals the values of our culture to the world. Its character, memory, and spiritual strength inspire us to stay true to our roots.
The prize in charitable activities has been awarded to Alexey Yuryevich Zarov, Chief Physician of the St. Alexius Clinical Hospital of the Metropolitan of Moscow. In recent years, one of the key areas of focus for this multifaceted church hospital has been caring for the severely ill. This expertise proved invaluable during the special military operation. Alexey Yuryevich and his colleagues set up two mobile field hospitals. In the first, surgeons and internists treated over 5,000 patients. The second played a vital role in addressing the humanitarian crisis following the destruction of the Kakhovka Hydroelectric Power Plant in the Kherson region. The training centers established by Alexey Yuryevich in Simferopol and Sevastopol have prepared 8,000 nursing assistants, and medical sisterhoods in Gorlovka, Makeyevka, Lugansk, Donetsk, and other cities provide assistance to residents of our historical regions. Alexey Yuryevich is not only an organizer of visiting nurse teams for professional care, but, as he puts it, for serving the sick and wounded. He is undeniably a dedicated champion of his cause.
Being where it is hardest and standing by those who suffer, defending justice, and taking on responsibility are the primary attributes of Tatyana Nikolayevna Moskalkova, laureate of the award for human rights activities. Her work as Russia's High Commissioner for Human Rights is an example of dignified service to the people and the Fatherland. From the very beginning of the special military operation, her priority has been supporting service members, their families, and civilians affected by combat operations. She has worked successfully to uphold the constitutional guarantees of Russian citizens. Dear friends, the heights you have reached are attained by extraordinary, strong, and generous people for whom work and profession become the purpose of life. I sincerely thank each of you and warmly congratulate you on these high state awards. Thank you very much.
By decree of the President of the Russian Federation, for exceptional labor services to the state and the people, the title of Hero of Labour of the Russian Federation is conferred upon Aleksandr Sergeyevich Batalin, General Director of the Fiolent Plant, Republic of Crimea.
Dear Vladimir Vladimirovich, on this festive day, I want to convey the most sincere words from the people of Crimea. Thank you that we live in our historical motherland. Thank you that we are in our home harbor. Over these 10 or 12 years that we have been in Russia, incredible transformations have taken place in Crimea. I have lived in Crimea my entire life, but nothing like this has ever happened before. Words are not enough; it is better to come and see for oneself. All of this is thanks to your constant attention and support, and we are confident that Crimea will continue to develop the same way. Vladimir Vladimirovich, back then I assured you, along with Sergei Valeryevich, the head of the republic, that Crimea would rise, industry would function, and the factories would be essential for defense technology and the people. And that is how it is today. The plant I represent, where I have worked for over 57 years and served as director for 42 years, is addressing defense capability issues today. We operate in step with all defense enterprises. We are working today, tomorrow, and will work on Sunday to resolve all these tasks. Following your instructions, we have already completed import substitution and achieved technical superiority. Built on defense technologies, the MC-21 and Superjet aircraft are now equipped with our high-precision systems. We are working with Rosatom and machine tool manufacturing; everything you spoke about is being fully carried out by the plant. We see further prospects and believe this path will continue. Thanks to the development dynamics reported to you today by the Head of the Republic, Sergei Valeryevich Aksyonov, I can report that industrial production, with his direct daily involvement, is playing a major role in Crimea's budget and gross product. In short, everything you recommend, we execute and execute very successfully. Vladimir Vladimirovich, may God grant you health, patience, and good fortune. Crimea is always with you. Happy holiday!
To Leonid Sergeyevich Bobov, Head of Laboratory at the Research and Design Institute of Chemical Machinery, Moscow.
To Vladimir Nikolayevich Danilov, Mining Machine Operator at Uralkali, Perm Krai.
I am a little nervous. Nonetheless, esteemed President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Vladimirovich, it is a great honor for me to receive this highest state award for labor achievements directly from your hands. I understand that one person alone cannot achieve victory, and that in this way you have recognized the labor of our entire multi-thousand team at Uralkali. We are part of the Uralchem Group, one of the world's leading producers of mineral fertilizers. We ensure the country's food security and combat hunger worldwide. I am sure this high award will inspire our team to new labor achievements. The Stakhanovites had a famous slogan: 'Give the country coal.' I would like to answer that call with a slight Ural variation: 'We will give the country potash salt.' We know the true value of our salt of the Russian earth, and we will not let you down. Thank you.
To Aleksandr Borisovich Kolesnichenko, General Director of Donskoye Enterprise, Volgograd Region.
Dear Vladimir Vladimirovich, thank you very much for the high appraisal of the labor and development of our collective and the farmers of the legendary Stalingrad Region. Thank you for supporting our region; thank you for supporting our governor. We will not let you down. All the tasks you set will be fulfilled. Furthermore, the residents of our heroic, legendary Stalingrad land asked me to convey words of support to you, Vladimir Vladimirovich. We always warmly welcome you to visit us. Thank you very much, Vladimir Vladimirovich. Happy Great Russia Day to everyone. I serve Russia!
To Marina Mstislavovna Neyolova, People's Artist of the RSFSR, actress at the Moscow Sovremennik Theatre.
I have always known that a piano does not play on its own. Therefore, today I have a wonderful opportunity to thank the people who brought me into this profession, helped me, and taught me. Above all, of course, these are my wonderful teachers, Vasily Vasilyevich Merkuryev and Irina Vsevolodovna Meyerhold. It is the Sovremennik Theatre, which became my university, because there was so much to learn from the best theatrical troupe in Moscow, and the directors who shared their talent, knowledge, skill, and craft with me. And, of course, my fellow actors, without whom it is simply impossible to take the stage and feel that joy. But it turns out that on top of the pleasure, joy, and happiness you experience when stepping onto the stage, you can also receive such a prestigious award. Thank you so much; this is unexpected. I am sure there are many people even more deserving, but I will not deny that this is extraordinarily gratifying. Thank you. Happy holiday to everyone.
To Nikolai Aleksandrovich Russu, General Director of Mostostroy-11, Tyumen Region.
Dear Vladimir Vladimirovich, I want to say a huge thank you for the attention shown to transport builders. Transport construction covers everything we build: airfields, high-grade highways, bridges spanning the Yenisei, Ob, Volga, and the Kerch Strait. This involves a vast army of professionals tackling these projects, primarily surveyors, designers, structural manufacturers, power engineers—an enormous workforce engaged across all these endeavors. We connect territories, connect people, and unite our great homeland. Currently, Natsproektstroy, a major group, is engaged in building the Moscow–Saint Petersburg High-Speed Railway. This is perhaps today's most crucial and complex project, involving a massive number of builders. It represents new technologies, new expertise, large-scale job creation, and youth engagement. For the country, this railway will save time, which I consider our most valuable asset today. Once we have this route connecting Petersburg and Moscow—and hopefully these construction efforts will continue onward—we will not let you down and will strive to complete everything on schedule and with high quality, as always. Thank you very much.
To Anatoly Semyonovich Sviridov, Lathe Operator at Elektronspectekhnika, Voronezh Region.
Dear Vladimir Vladimirovich, distinguished guests, receiving the title of Hero of Labour is a tremendous honor and a great responsibility. This award is not only a recognition of my work, but also a sign of respect for the machinist's craft and the tradition of all working professions that we are bound to pass on to future generations. I want to gratefully remember my teachers and mentors who set me on my professional path, and thank my team and colleagues, all who shared their experience and supported me. Special gratitude goes to my entire family; without a reliable home front, none of this would have been possible. I will continue to work for the good of our Motherland and help young professionals entering the trade find their footing. Thank you, Vladimir Vladimirovich, for this high honor. I wish everyone strong health, peace, and prosperity. Happy holiday, comrades!
To Pyotr Ivanovich Serdyukov, Head of Sector at the Central Scientific Research Institute of Precision Engineering, Moscow Region.
I will speak briefly: we are doing work essential for our country, arming our military, as the saying goes. I will keep it brief.
